CycoActive's addendum to instructions

Please note that there has been a design change in the powercord retainer. Instructions for the "old style" retainer (CNC aluminum) click here. The instructions for version 3 are shown here. For dimensions of mounting base click here.

The NEW Touratech mount 065-0022 and 065-0035 version 3 (new design for 2004).

When you're carrying a helmet, jacket, keys and whatever else, it's very convenient to be able to attach the GPS and power it with one hand.
The Touratech GPSIII mount holds the powercord in place, so when you snap the GPS into the mount, it engages vehicle power simultaneously. It works very well (same when you remove the GPS).

1) For Version 3 Assemble as shown: A = Spacer
B = Clip B
C = Clip C

2) powercord retainer

To start, unscrew the two phillips-head screws securing the powercord retainer. Notice that the nuts are fixed permanently to Clip C and they cannot be turned. They appear to be normal nuts, but they are fixed to the clip. DON'T try to loosen the nuts - turn the screws instead.

1) Align the aluminum retainer C onto the Garmin (G10085) power cord as shown. Clip C holds the powercord at the 45æ angle. The surfaces at the BLACK arrow on Clip C contacts the flat surface of the powercord at the WHITE arrow to position the cord at the proper 45æ angle.

2) Add Clip B, which retains the powercord.

3) Add Spacer A. Spacer A contacts the GPS mount. Insert the two screws and tighten.

The system works so well, we recommend that you sacrifice a cord to the Touratech mount and buy a second power cord for the car.

If you choose not to use the powercord retainer please note that the tolerances are too tight to insert the cord AFTER the GPS is in the mount. Attempting to do so will damage your "power cord end" fairly quickly. To insert the plug manually, you will need to enlarge the hole in the aluminum (use a round file).
