The StreetPilotIII has the same PhaseTrac12 operating system as the alll of the modern Garmins. It has a basemap of North America which includes all major highways and secondary arterials. For more detail, you can load datacards with your PC using the included "CityNavigator CD". The CityNavigator CD has the entire USA and Canada. Then you'll have information such as restaurants, hotels, gas stations and including address and tel#. You can locate a destination by inputting the street address and the StreetPilotIII tells you how to get there! You can enter a bunch of addresses (working efficiently on your PC keyboard), then load the days' destinations to your SPIII.The screen is about 4", and the unit is 6.8" long. Volumewise it's twice as big as the GPSIII/V (it's about the size of a spray-paint can) and weighs 1 lb 4.5 oz. See a photo of size comparison. |

| The StreetPilot III comes with a PC cable, 12v
cable and a very adjustable dashmount!
|
The viewing angle is adjustable as shown by this image. The mount also swivels 360 degrees (in the horizontal plane) and has a button for quick-release. This dashmount is actually the older model StreetPilot. The SP III has an angle adjust that funtions similar, but the mount itself is different. We like the RAM mounts. There is a suctioncup mount for your car, and one for handlebar of a motorcycle. See the streetpilot mounts which are similar, and adaptable. The RAM streetPilot mount is not the same as the StreetPilotIII mount. But it is easily adaptable, as all RAM products. |
