"10 Years on two Wheels" by Helge Pedersen is a 208-page coffee-table book with more than 200 glossy photos, nine maps
and the story of Helge Pedersen's journey around the world.
A bit about the author: Helge Pedersen started his professional career as a photographer. In 1981, fueled by a lifelong desire to see the world, he bought his first BMW motorcycle, added a large tank and took the road to Africa. Travelling the world on a motorcycle soon became his passion. He rode his motorcycle more than 400,000 km through 77 countries, from South America to North America and across the virtually "inpenetrable" jungle in Panama. Pedersen also toured through Australia and Asia. Upon his return, he wrote the first account of his travels in Norwegian, worked as a journalist for a couple of international motorcycle magazines and presented his multimedia slide shows. The book has been updated, translated into English and now includes the latest journey through Siberia, Mongolia, China and Sakhalin Island. His motorcycle "Olga", the R80 GS on which he travelled the world, eventually retired in the BMW museum located in Munich when Helge swapped it for a new BMW R1100 GS in 1995.
