4 gallon tank (IMS Products) It's FAT, really fat.....but it provides almost 200 miles range. Taillight / licenseplate holder is from my friends at Baja Designs. With eleven LEDs it's rally bright, I run it in addition to the original 4 LED taillight. |
Cargo rack is home-made in this photo, because there were no aftermarket racks available at early 2004 trail-clearing season. Attachment to the CRF frame was not easy, as the aftermarket rack builders were about to find out. Platform is black plastic (black cutting board from Target) Holes drilled make it look like unobtanium. This homemade rack has since been replaced by a trick CNC aluminum ProMotoBillet. I have a chainsaw adapter plate that drops into the holes on the rack, and has various blocks properly placed to engage the bottom of the chainsaw. One strap holds the saw down tightly, with zero movement. The strap design allows super fast on-and-off-on to minimize time spent fussing with the saw. Being the first rider over the high-mountain trails each spring, and clearing the trails for all the recreationists of the new season is good feeling that all riders should experience! I have since adapted the black plastic chainsaw plate to drop into the diamond-shaped holes of the CNC ProMoto rack. Chainsaw is an Echo CS3000 - the smaller the saw, the easier to carry. The CS3000 is now sold with the Stihl badge. Sometimes you have to leave the big stuff behind but you cut much farther in a day! Plus, you make it easier for the poor bugger behind who's carrying the big saw. The tradeoffs: Carrying the saw on front, back or backpack. On the front, you can cut some stuff without even getting off your bike, but you can't ride fast on tight or rough trails with the saw on the front. Carried on the back you can ride fast, take jumps, but in doing so you might damage your subframe. Backpack is no fun, but a backpack does not require that you buy and bolt big hunks of metal to your dirtbike. |

JDJetting.com carburetor jets
kit with special needle (it RIPS!!) I'm really happy with this mod.
I cut the top off the airbox off without removing the airbox or even
the filter. I used a new, sharp hacksaw blade(18T) in my hand, it
was easy. Just scrape away at the plastic with the first tooth, until
it breaks thru. Or you can drill a hole in the corners, but don't
touch the filter with the bit! |
Turn-down exhaust extension is a one-inch diameter
curved section of exhaust pipe cut from a CBR600 header. it's simply
welded to the HONDA baffle. It makes the exhaust hit the ground first,
dispersing it somewhat and reducing the distance that the noise travels.
It makes a noticeable difference in quietness.

Screwdriver holder is a peice of fuel line that is
zip-tied to the fork leg. It's great for tweaking suspension clickers.
They're everywhere on these trick bikes and it
makes it easier to turn your friends' clickers too. Idea stolen from
a Mike Baxter at Spodefest who whipped his out in the blink of an eye.

Plated in Oregon then imported to WA as a fully
